Forbidden Planet New Oxford Street Grand opening
16 July 1988
On Saturday July 16th 1988, Forbidden Planet moved to larger premises in New Oxford Street. Combining the resources of its two previous stores in Denmark street and St. Giles High Street resulted in a larger science fiction book section and a fully comprehensive comics department. Adam West (TV's Batman) was invited to cut the ribbon, while special guests included visual effects ace Ray Harryhausen, and the stars from the Tim Burton movie Beetlejuice.
