Setting Up My Account

What is a subscription?

We now offer customers the chance to sign up to receive their favourite comics every month. This is the easiest way to get comic titles without the worry of placing an order each time a comic issue is listed.

How does it work?

You can choose from as little as 1 to as many on going titles as you like. All you need is to subscribe!

How do I set up my account?

To set up your account with Forbidden Planet, click on ‘You Account’ in the top right hand corner of the screen and follow the on-screen prompts. Once you have your account, click the red “Subscription tab” button on the top menu and then the “Sign up now!” button under the subscriptions section. You can also browse though all of our available subscriptions, including titles from Marvel, DC, Dynamite, IDW, Dark Horse, Image and Boom! Studios and independent comics publishers. You’re now subscribed, and ready to add your comics.

What if I am already registered with forbiddenplanet.com?

If you have made a purchase with forbiddenplanet.com you may already have registered with us. You can use your existing registration details or if you wish to use an alternate email address you may wish to register again. If you do choose to use an alternate email address please remember that you will be registered under each of the email accounts you choose.

How do I add comics to my subscription?

Use our menu system to browse by publisher, title, artist or writer. When you have found the product you’re looking for, simply click on the product itself. From here, you can add the item to your wish list, and share it on your social media profiles. To subscribe to the series, click on the “Subscribe to…!” button on the top right of the screen. This will take you to the “Your Subscriptions” page where you can enter titles and quantities. Please be aware that you can only subscribe by series.

Making Changes to My Subscription

Can I add or delete titles from my subscription?

You can add or delete titles from your subscription at any time. Go to the “Your Account” button under the subscriptions section, and click “Your Subscriptions”. From here you will have the option to “Unsubscribe” and/or change the quantity. When you make changes, they will take effect from the date of the next available item on your subscription. You can view this in your account at any time.

What is the deadline for modifying my subscription?

Once you have created your list of subscriptions, we will send you a confirmation email letting you know which titles you have ordered. This e-mail will state how long you have to modify (add items to and remove items from) your order before we finalise your order ready for delivery. Once we have finalised your order, you will still be able to remove titles, but not add any more.

Special Orders and Variant Covers

Do I need to order a minimum number of titles?

We have not set a minimum subscription - you can subscribe to as little as one book if you like.  As our subscriptions are sent out monthly however , it may be beneficial to order a single title directly though the website.

Can I subscribe to more than one copy of any title?

You can order as many of our titles as you wish and we will send you the number you have ordered. For more detail, please see the ‘Variants’ section .

How do you handle variant covers?

There are several different kinds of variant releases and covers. For example, if you have Subscribed to one copy of Amazing Spider-Man each month and the publisher ships it with two different covers (50% of one and 50% of the other) we will simply pick, and ship, one cover at random. If a publisher issues a special 'incentive cover' for a book, we will list that comic separately on the site, and it will not be a part of your subscription. This is because the publishers do not send us enough ‘incentive’ copies to fulfill all the subscription requests for that title. If you would like the ‘incentive’ cover, you will need to order it from us separately. If a comic is re-issued with a second edition cover, we will list it separately on the site, and it will not be a part of your subscription. If you would like the title, you will need to order it from us separately. Marvel tend to refer to their '2nd prints' as 'variant covers'. Unfortunately we cannot always list and supply variants due to limited availability.

Can I order back issues?

Any back issues we have available will be listed on our website. You can order these though our website, but we will not include them in your monthly subscription.

Packaging and Posting

How do you package my subscriptions?

We will wrap your entire subscription safely in a single protective comic bag. We will then package your wrapped order in a sturdy cardboard envelope or box. The size of this will depend upon the size of your subscription. You can order additional comic bags, boards and box supplies through the Forbidden Planet website, http://forbiddenplanet.com.

When will my subscription be charged and shipped?

We will ship, and charge you for your subscription once per month. You should receive your comics on the same week of each month. When we process your subscription, we will send out everything that has been released at that point. Our subscription schedule is based on your surname, and we have broken it down into the following weeks. If you qualify for a free copy of Previews (see below) we will ship your order in week one.

It is important for subscription customers to note that prior to release comics are advertised two months in advance. A new subscription customer's very first delivery will be sent in approximately eight weeks after the subscription has been confirmed. (please refer to confirmation email) After the first subscription you will be regulated in to a monthly subscription.

If a subscription customers order is totally complete before the month is at an end and we are not waiting on any further titles against that subscription to be released, we will fast track the order and ship it as soon we can.

How do I qualify for a copy of Previews?

If you are subscribing to 50 or more titles you qualify to receive a free copy of previews and Marvel previews with your subscription.

What do I do if there's a mistake in my subscription?

We strive for 100% accuracy in our subscription service, but mistakes do happen. If we have sent you the wrong title, or if you find that an issue is missing, we will correct the problem immediately. Please use our contact form and we will respond as quickly as possible. If you need to tell us about anything to do with our subscriptions, site or services, we are always happy to hear from you.

What shipping methods do you use?

Most orders are shipped using Royal Mail, 2nd class. Orders valued over £35.00 GBP are shipped via our courier service. Please see our general shipping details online

What do I do if my comics are lost or damaged?

How do I return comics?

Unwanted comics need to be returned to us within 14 days of receipt. We will refund customers for the value of the comics but shipping costs will not be refunded.
