It could not be simpler to create an affiliate link to any part of ForbiddenPlanet.com. This guide will show you how to get started.
Throughout the usage of this guide we will refer to the usage of your affiliate code as:
“your-affiliate-code”
You will need to replace the text “your-affiliate-code” with your own code. You can get or setup your code here.
The Easy Way
On some pages such as a product listing, we have a share button:
When clicked this will open a dialog. Click on the “Embed” tab as shown:
This tab contains two fields:
- The code you would need to embed on your site if you wanted to use our widget.
- Your affiliate code.
Your affiliate code would be entered automatically if you were logged in.
An example widget displaying star wars products would look like this:
If you don’t need to use the widget, you can just copy the generated link:
The Manual Way
If the page you want to link to does not have a share button you can do the following to create an affiliate link.
If the URL had parameters it would appear similar to this:
“https://forbiddenplanet.com/catalog/?sort=relevance&page=1”
The following would need to be added to the URL:
“&affid=your-affiliate-code”
Your final URL would look like this:
“https://forbiddenplanet.com/catalog/?sort=relevance&page=1&affid=your-affiliate-code”
Remember to replace “your-affiliate-code” with your own affiliate code.
Or if your URL had no parameters, like this:
“https://forbiddenplanet.com/catalog/”
The following would need to be added to the URL:
“?affid=your-affiliate-code”
In this case your final URL would look like this:
“https://forbiddenplanet.com/catalog/?affid=your-affiliate-code”
Remember to replace “your-affiliate-code” with your own affiliate code.
Upgrading Your Widget
This will only be of concern if you were using a widget from our old site that looked like this:
