Shipping rates for UK customers are calculated in the cart and checkout stages and are usually as follows:

International shipping varies per destination. For some countries it will be calculated once you enter your address on checkout. If your postage shows as TBC during checkout then we need to calculate the shipping for your order based on the value of the items you’ve ordered, their release dates and approximate sizes. For these orders Once the first items in the order are ready to be sent out to you we will issue a shipping quote via email and you will need to respond within 7 days for us to process, bill and ship your order.

Please note some items may incur a higher shipping cost regardless of their value as they need to be shipped by courier due to their size and/or weight (e.g. comic boxes). This also applies to some sale items where shipping costs will be calculated based on the original prices of those items, not their discounted prices.

If you choose to cancel items after placing your order please note that postage will not automatically be recalculated for your order (as it may already have been charged). In this instance if you would like your postage costs checked and re-calculated please contact us.

If we expect to send out your order in multiple shipments we will calculate the number of shipments required to fulfil your order during checkout, based on the pre-order dates of the items in that order. You will be given up to three options during the checkout phase to determine how regularly we send your in stock and/or pre-order items to you:

Daily Shipping - We’ll ship items as and when they are released, allocated to your order and ready to be sent out.

Weekly Shipping - we will group items released around the same time into single shipments roughly based on weekly releases. For example if you had items released on Wednesday and Friday of the same week, we would combine these into one shipment.

Fortnightly Shipping - We will group items released over two week periods into single shipments. For example if you had items released on a Wednesday and the following Thursday, we would combine these into one shipment

You will be able to view details of how your shipments will be grouped during checkout, and in the Open Orders section of Your Account once your order has been placed. Each shipment we expect to send your order in will have its own shipping cost attached to it, which will be charged when we are sending that shipment out to you. You will receive an email for each individual shipment if your items are sent separately, listing which items are being shipped out to you.

Shipping costs are fixed at the point of checkout and will not be increased due to subsequent changes to pre-order release dates by suppliers.

Please note that for orders placed before 30/07/2024. If you have ordered several products, and we despatch those products separately, we will count the value of each despatch as a separate item and post it accordingly. We will charge you the full amount for the shipping on the first despatch. You will receive an email for each individual shipment if your items are sent separately, listing which items are being shipped out to you.

Yes, we ship internationally. If you are an EU resident or live in the USA, Australia or Canada, your postage rates are calculated for you at the checkout stage. If we expect to send out your order in multiple shipments we will calculate the number of shipments required to fulfil your order during checkout, based on the pre-order dates of the items in that order, and you will be given up to three options during the checkout phase to determine how regularly we send your in stock and/or pre-order items to you. This is outlined in further detail here.

If you are outside of these areas (your postage cost shows as TBC during checkout), you can select your destination country at checkout and we will contact you via email when the order is ready to be charged with a shipping quote for your order. You will need to reply to that email and approve the shipping cost so that we can process and ship your order.

Please contact us us and tell us which items you wish to buy if you would like us to provide you with an estimated shipping quote based on the order’s weight, size and destination. Please note this does not guarantee that price if you do place an order for those items.

When a package is delivered within the EU or internationally, it may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, and/or fees imposed by the destination country such as handling fees.

These charges can vary widely and are often based on the price and type of item, package weight and dimensions, origin country, and the taxes, duties, and fees of the destination country. The customer is responsible for paying these fees and we cannot verify what they will be prior to shipping. We also cannot guarantee the number of shipments your order will be sent in.

Please be aware that your parcel may also be subject to a customs inspection. We do not have any control over which parcels are selected for inspection.

Please be aware that due to changes in UK and international law in 2021 with regard to importing and exporting regulations, we cannot always ship items to a BFPO or PO Box addresses.

There are also occasions where we will not be able to ship an item to your chosen destination as some items/shipments are too large to be sent through our contracted postal services, especially for some international destinations.

We will attempt to ship items to these addresses, however if the parcel is returned to us as a failed delivery or it’s unable to be sent we can only issue a refund for that shipment, and we won’t attempt re-delivery to the same (or an alternative) address.

We advise where possible to select an address where someone is available to physically receive the parcel, especially when placing larger orders that cannot easily be put through a letterbox or left in a safe place. We may also refuse to ship to an address if we do not feel that it is capable of securely receiving deliveries from us.

We understand that some customers use freight forwarding services to get their parcels delivered internationally.

You can use these services for shipping of your order, but please note that Forbidden Planet Ltd is only responsible for delivery to the address you provide for your order, and cannot be held accountable for further delivery arrangements once it has been received at a freight forwarding address.

Please also be aware that we do not currently provide tracking numbers to the majority of our shipments with a total value of £35.00 GBP or less, and that some forwarding agents require this information to process your package.

The majority of our UK orders are shipped by Royal Mail’s Tracked 24 service. You should receive further information from Royal Mail with a delivery date and timeframe once the shipment is in their system.

In some circumstances we will ship UK Orders by DPD or Royal Mail 48 if they are too large for the Royal Mail 24 service (for example comic boxes). For these shipments you should still receive a tracking number separately via email, either from DPD - that becomes active once DPD have scanned your parcel at their depot - or from Royal Mail.

For shipments of international orders below £50.00 we will use standard international airmail, and we do not have tracking information for these shipments.

For shipments or single products over the value of £50.00, we will use DPD for most EU destinations and Parcel Force or DPD for the rest of the world. You will receive a tracking number separately via email that becomes active within 24 hours of being emailed.

Please note if you have multiple orders with us with items charged and ready to ship we might combine these orders into a single shipment on despatch. This will increase the overall value of the shipment and may result in it being sent by courier. You will pay separate shipping costs for each order but frequently you will have multiple outstanding items on each order that these postage costs will cover.

If you feel you have overpaid on postage please contact us and we can investigate this for you.

For UK orders sent by Royal Mail 24 delivery usually takes 2-3 working days once tracking has been applied to the shipment. Internationally we usually expect delivery within 14-28 working days, though this does vary depending on the location.

For orders shipped by DPD, delivery is usually within 1-2 working days to mainland UK addresses and 5-7 working days internationally. You will receive a tracking number directly from DPD once they have picked your order up from us, this tracking number usually becomes active within 24 hours.

Please note that a ‘Working day’ means Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday that is not a Public or Bank Holiday in the UK or your destination country.

For international shipments please be aware that your parcel may also be subject to a customs inspection which can delay delivery. We do not have any control over which parcels are selected for inspection or for how long this process takes.

We are usually required to wait up to 21 days in order to class this as lost in the post. The Royal Mail advise this time-frame as your order may be on its way back to us. We ask that customers wait at least 7 days before notifying us of non-arrival of shipments, providing confirmation of order number, items not received and delivery address, so we can investigate the matter for you.

For international orders please notify us of non-arrival after 21 days, but please note we may need to wait the full 42 before investigating these.

If your order was shipped by courier and has not arrived within 3 working days (7 working days for international customers) please let us know so we can check tracking information for you.

Our contracted courier services will usually leave a calling card if they’re unable to deliver to your address. Please follow the instructions on the card to re-organise delivery or pick-up directly with Royal Mail or DPD.

If a parcel is not successfully delivered and is returned to us we will usually refund the returned item(s) and relevant postage costs as required.
