Marcelino Truong signing Such A Lovely Little War

MARCELINO TRUONG will be signing SUCH A LOVELY LITTLE WAR at the Forbidden Planet London Megastore on Wednesday 16th November from 6 - 7pm.

This riveting, beautifully produced graphic memoir tells the story of the early years of the Vietnam war as seen by a young boy named Marco, the son of a Vietnamese diplomat and his French wife. Visually powerful and emotionally potent, Such A Lovely Little War is both a large-scale and intimate study of the Vietnam war as seen through the eyes of the Vietnamese: a turbulent national history intertwined with an equally traumatic familial one.

Marcelino Truong is an illustrator and painter, born of a Vietnamese father and a French mother. Winner of numerous awards, his first animated film “Little Wang” was released in 2006, during the creation of which he began the design of an animated feature film “Melilotus”. Marcelino is fascinated by Asia and his paintings reflect the streets, the home interiors, and the intimacy and charm of simple people.
