EMMA NEWMAN will be reading from and signing her amazing debut novel BETWEEN TWO THORNS (Angry Robot) at the Forbidden Planet Bristol Megastore on Thursday 7th March from from 6 – 7pm.
Something is wrong in Aquae Sulis, Bath’s secret mirror city.
The new season is starting and the Master of Ceremonies is missing. Max, an Arbiter of the Split Worlds Treaty, is assigned with the task of finding him with no one to help but a dislocated soul and a mad sorcerer. There is a witness but his memories have been bound by magical chains only the enemy can break. A rebellious woman trying to escape her family may prove to be the ally Max needs. But can she be trusted? And why does she want to give up eternal youth and the life of privilege she’s been born into?
“Emma Newman is an extraordinary new voice in SF/F.” Paul Cornell, Hugo Award winner, and author of London Falling and Saucer Country
“Emma Newman has built a modern fantasy world with such élan and authority her ideas of why and how the seemingly irrational world of Fairy works should be stolen by every other writer in the field. Her characters are complex and troubled, courageous at times and foolhardy. This book of wonders is first rate.” Bill Willingham, Eisner Award winner, and creator of Fables
NEW COMPETITION: Everyone who pre-orders a copy of Emma Newman's Between Two Thorns will have their name entered into a draw. The winner will have a character named after them in Book 3 in the series - All Is Fair - which is published in October of this year.
Additionally, everyone who attends a launch event in Bristol or London will receive an envelope. Inside this envelope will be a card containing an exclusive short story set inside the Split Worlds. This story will not be published anywhere else, so the cards are destined to be real collectors' items. Emma will, of course, sign these at the event.
And if that weren't enough! One of the envelopes in Bristol and London will also contain a Golden Ticket* which will entitle the winner to receive a copy of the book weeks before it is published in June.
*Ticket colour may change.
