Forbidden Planet is pleased to announce a signing by PETER MILLIGAN. He will be signing his graphic novel GREEK STREET, at the Forbidden Planet Megastore, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London WC2H 8JR on Saturday 8th May 1 – 2pm.
Boasting a ‘Chorus’ of sexy strippers, vengeful gangsters, a murderous youth and a disturbed clairvoyant teenaged girl, GREEK STREET is Peter Milligan's re-imagining of the brutal and visceral tragedies of Ancient Greece played out on the mean streets of modern-day London.
Lust, rage, pride, vengeance – these are appetites that drove the tales and tragedies of the ancient Greeks. In London, everything old is new again. The dark desires that doomed the likes of Oedipus, Agamemnon and Medea are calling to a new breed of royals and rogues. Strippers and psychics, cops and killers, peers of the realm and lords of the city – all of them have their part of play in a deadly drama that’s thousands of years old, yet always needs to spill new blood.
Peter Milligan is an acclaimed British comics writer and alumnus of 2000AD. Milligan was one of the founding writers of DC’s cutting edge Vertigo imprint, and has written a huge array of titles, including Animal Man, Tank Girl, Shade: The Changing Man, and X-Force. He is currently working with Davide Gianfelice on the series Greek Street and is also the current series writer on Hellblazer.
