Reporting to our Head of Pop Culture, the Design & Approvals Assistant will be responsible for co-ordinating the DTR approval system, and assisting on design tasks.
CORE FUNCTION
Provide ongoing support to the Head of Pop Culture, to co-ordinate new merchandise designs and their submissions on external licensing approval systems.
To assist as required on art working tasks, including – but not limited too – packaging, producing merchandise from style guides, POS and marketing sheets.
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Liaising with internal / external stakeholders on product and packaging submissions and processing feedback, for both concepts and subsequent production samples.
Making requests for product samples, via our manufacturers & suppliers.
Artworking briefs, as requested by the Head of Pop Culture, Art Director and senior management.
Design work including packaging, illustration revisions and preparing web images.
ADMINISTRATION
Attending DTR meetings, presenting new products to Directors and other stakeholders.
Ensuring accurate updates on the Merch Briefing System, which includes: project status, due dates, feedback, and imagery. Old briefs to be constantly archived.
Keeping DTR storage cupboards tidy, with at least one example of every design remaining available.
Disposing of older DTR samples.
Cover for stock management as required - including stock allocation and print-on-demand ordering & overview.
PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertaking regular reviews of personal performance with the Head of Pop Culture.
Identifying personal training & development needs - in relation to your duties and in line with achieving the departmental Business Objectives / Budget.
Ensuring that health and safety standards are always maintained. Advising Forbidden Planet/Titan Health and Safety Representatives of potential risk areas.
Maintaining agreed standards of organisation, tidiness, cleanliness and health & safety in your work area.
Attending & staffing conventions and trade shows on behalf of Forbidden Planet, on an ad hoc basis as required
Informing your line manager of any absence (planned or sickness) in advance, in a timely fashion.
Keeping your line manager informed of anything that hinders you with regard to abiding by this job description.

All matters outside of usual duties to be referred to Head of Pop Culture or Operations Manager for approval/guidance.
