Border Fine Arts the UK’s premier manufacturer of hand painted resin is very proud to announce the launch of the first figurine in a series under the Marvel licence, Iron Man.
This figurine was inspired by the Marvel comic book artwork and sculptured by Peter Mook under the direction of Border Fine Arts’ design director, Ray Ayres, the figurines are made entirely by hand in the Border Fine Arts studios in Langholm. It is to be produced in worldwide numbered editions of 500. After casting and assembling by hand, figurine will be painted by hand, meaning no two will be identical, and, as befits such prestigious studies, every piece will be presented with an individually numbered limited edition certificate of authenticity.
The new Iron Man Figurine is —quite literally —‘fantastic’ and is based on the classic red and gold MK V armour design that first débûted in Tales of Suspense #48. This iconic armour appeared in well over 200 issues of Iron Man’s comic adventures and is easily the most recognisable in the comic book superhero’s arsenal — a ‘must’ for all serious Marvel fans.
Created by Stan Lee with scripter Larry Lieber and artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby, Iron Man (Tony Stark) made his first appearance in Marvel Comics’ Tales of Suspense#39 (March 1963).
