4 out of 5 starsA surpisingly good low budget sci-fi effort, - By Andrew Ingram (FP) Staff Reviewer

A friend recommended that I watch this, and I'm glad he did because it's the kind of rare gem that you'd never normally think to pick up in a shop (if you can even find it in one).

Superficially, Primer is just another film about time travel (albeit one that takes a more subdued approach), but it is so intricately crafted that it would be very difficult to understand the full events of the film in one viewing. Luckily it's quite a short film (just over an hour) so there's no big investment in seeing it more than once. That being said, I did have to look up explanations (and a handy diagram) on the internet to figure out exactly what was going on (there are 9 timelines).

This isn't a film for those who just want to be entertained, it's aimed at those who enjoy films that provides them with a puzzle at the end and rewards a second viewing.

Highly recommended.

V For Vendetta Mask

4 out of 5 starsDoes the job, fairly sturdy., - By Andrew Ingram (FP) Staff Reviewer

I bought a bunch of these for a party, the plastic is thinner than I was expecting but all of them survived the night so no real complaints.

There's a small piece of foam stuck behind the forehead part of the mask, some people thought this was supposed to be removed, but it proved essential in keeping the mask positioned correctly, so don't make the same mistake.

Other than that, pretty good. You can fit a drinking straw through the mouth hole so you don't have to sacrifice your costume in order to enjoy a beverage.

(An aside, if you're planning on buying the hat as well, it's fairly fiddly to get the mask and hat fitting together, but it can be done - unless you have a tiny head)
