As the 20th Century draws to a close, a troubled novelist tries to hide from the past on a remote and idyllic Greek island – but when he falls in love, it threatens to unleash the horrors that haunt him. Meanwhile, more than 60 years in the past and hundreds of miles away, two writers are called by their friend to investigate strange goings-on in Hopton Wood. Their discovery – a strange alien creature – will bring their world, and that of the reclusive novelist in the future, into a gripping and unexpected collision.
