First ever comic book purchase and it's fantastic. The art is amazing and the comic is incredibly high quality. I'll definitely be keeping up with this series.

the short answer is.... YES, the art and the writing is much like the show that inspired it: intelligent for children (without having to DUMB DOWN) and witty for adults.

At first when I read the title I was skeptical, little girls don't read comics, why is this so popular? So after reminding myself of the 'Don't judge the book by its cover' rule, I decided to give it a fair shot.
Immediately I was greeted with a beautiful pastel art style which seems to be made using coloured pens (or a very good digital colouring) which is reminiscent of the cartoon art style, but different enough to be a refreshing new take on visuals.
The story has a great mix of fantasy adventure, peril, mystery, humour and cuteness which can give even he manliest men a run for their money. The comic is a part of a 4-issue story arc, and I genuinely cannot wait for the next issue.
This comic has it all, and if you think you're too manly for ponies, think again.
