I'm rather at a loss to explain why these figures are praised so highly (admittedly by the same two people). Presumably these figures are based on the old Denys Fisher figures from the 70's, which were themselves, with the benefit of hindsight, a bit rubbish really - a cardboard Tardis, a tiny Giant Robot and a Tom Baker based on the likeness of Gareth Hunt. All respect to Biff Bang Pow though - they've actually made these figures surpass their 70's decendants in terms of awfulness by quite some margin. For very small children only. Blind ones. With no taste.

Don't listen to any of the negative reviews made on this figure and the line! It's a fantastic piece, very nostalgic and very retro! I think all the haters for this line seem to be quite blind to the fact that these figures are supposed to represent the kind of action figures that would have been released in the 1970s. If you like retro, if you like nostalgia, you'll LOVE these!
Out of the figures I have from this line, Styre is my favourite thus far. He is so superbly detailed and I love his silver 'jump suit'. Fantastic head sculpt, looks very alien and very scary like every Doctor Who monster should!
The articulation is astounding! Joints of movement everywhere you look! Very posable indeed! The only problem with the articulation, in my opinion, is the shoulders as they don't seem to move fully. The joints are held together with rubber bands (like the old GI Joe figures from the 1980s), so I'm a bit worried that they may wear away in the future, although the rubber bands used do seem to be much thicker and stronger than those of the GI Joe figures. I think if you leave them in the sunlight for too long then they will shrink though, so I recommend you don't keep them in the sun for too long.
The accessories are fantastic! The helmet is very nicely sculpted and slots into the neck piece in a similar fashion to that of the Character Options Styre figure. The helmet is much better than the Doctor's hat! The gun is very nicely sculpted and detailed and fits into Styre's hand very nicely.
All in all, I give the Retro Sontaran Field Major Styre figue from Bif Bang Pow! a 9/10. Certainly my favourite so far, no flaws whatsoever and highly recommended as the best figure from this line! :D

See my comments on the Tom Baker figure for general remarks, only needs for me to say that this is my favourite of the retro figures so far, even if Styre's face is a bit like an auton's! (Well, I think so!)
The old-style plasticky suit is just great, lots of velcro to hold the clothes firmly in place (just like 'real' old toys) and a helmet that really fits! Again, the variety of textures makes this toy wonderfully tactile and it feels 'just right' in the hand. It looks superb if used just for display purposes, too.
After the misery of splurging out small fortunes on so many depressing Character Options rip-offs of late, it's really refreshing to get such (ahem) 'fun' figures. They're not a substitute for standard 5" figures and aren't meant to be, obviously ... but it makes a change to open a package and actually have something bring a smile to the face.
For retro-style figures, it will be very hard to top these superb Biff Bang Pow figures. Just about perfect!
