I don't have this yet and when I heard it was coming out I was exctatic, because I've been into Doctor Who as a child, and as you can imagine have a fair bit stuff, but more favour Tha Old Classic Who, but when I heard about some of the standard features including the playing pieces still being a car etc. apart from one of them being the Tardis, I started thinking why are they getting slack with all the toys and things anybody ????

Just received this item this morning. Overall impressed with the general quality of the game.
Was hugely disappointed to find that this set contains the normal Monopoly playing pieces and only one Doctor Who themed piece that being a Tardis which is larger than the other pieces.

Recieved this game end of July, had been quite excited about the arrival of the game as i am a big monopoly and doctor who fan. However i have to say i was quite disappointed when it actually arrived.
We are advised that Doctor Who Monopoly is limited to 5000 sets - it does not state this on the box anywhere either internally or externally, so as such you do not know which number of the 5000 you have receieved.
The board and chance/community chest cards are well themed to current and previous new Doctor Who series, but for me the most disappointing bit was the lack of imagination for the theming of the playing pieces. Many "themed" monopoly sets have the playing pieces related to the "theme" but Doctor Who Monopoly doesnt! You get the usual pieces - Dog, Boot, Car etc. With so much scope for possible pieces - Daleks, Cybermen, Sonic Screwdriver, Weeping Angel - You name it they could have used it - I feel this is the most dsappointing bit about this version.
It seems to me that the makers were keen to get the game released and rushed it so much that no thought was put into the pieces.
Overall Grade 3/5
