Doctor Who: Action Figures: Fifth Doctor (Regeneration Burgundy Outfit)
out of 5 starsFrom Tom to David!, - By Andrew
This figure I would recommend for anybody that loves Peter Davidson and a bit of Tom Baker's later costume combined. The fact that the scarf is removable makes the figure more 'action like', the articulation is decent and the detail is just the same as 5th doctor models before hand! This figure can be enjoyed as much by being kept in the box as this figure represents probably 20 minutes of the ever growing collection of doctor who episoded - 'Castrovalva' episode 1 where the doctor could'nt help but pull on the scarf until it was nothing more!

Compared to other 5th doctor figures, this beats them all. The head sculp is much different to previous releases and the clothes are well presented and look very realistic. There is a great amount of articulation on it and would make a great addition to anyones collection. Arrived safe and well, thanks FP.

I admire this seemingly ongoing quest to document all the many variations of the Doctor in figure form. It reminds me of my youth when me and my cousins manage to collect all the original Star Wars figures, even the most absurd peripheral characters who did nothing in the films, we had to have them to complete the collection.
I did have to laugh though when I saw this version of Peter Davison, depicting him in the Tom Baker outfit he wears briefly in Castrovalva. I mean, who wants this? Even a die-hard collector like me is going to turn a blind eye to this one.
Anyway as I feel that particular story was pretty awful I wont be investing in something that reminds me of it.
I'm going to hold out for a jacket-less and scarf-less version of Tom Baker from the Ark in Space, perhaps with the addition of a light sweat on his forehead. Or maybe a Tom is his Viking outfit that he wears for 30 seconds in the story Robot.
Ha! I'm only half joking.
