out of 5 starsThe strange life of Clark Kent, - By Beeta
We all know that when Clark Kent was a boy he lived in Smallville.
We were all wrong. In these stories he does not live in Smallville. He lives in a suburb of Metropolis.
There is no Pete Ross, although there is a man called Charlie Ross. His friends are Tiny and Squint.
Lana Lang does not appear. Instead there is a girl called Betty, and one called Betty Marr, who are different girls.
He fights no super-powered criminals, aliens or evil geniuses.
These stories remind me of Tom Sawyer, but set in the 1920s or 30s, and Clark is a much nicer boy than Tom Sawyer.I grew up in the 60s. I had not read these stories before, but I found them delightful because Clark and his friends do the things that my friends and I did.
