When we are taught about war it is always about strategies, goals, the countries, the leaders, both political and military. It is only since the advent of battlefront reporting, of turning on your television and seeing actual wars in progress, putting names to faces, "meeting" both soldiers and civilians who are caught in the day-to-day struggle for survival, that war has become real for civilians.
