Cerebus: Volume 6: Melmoth5 out of 5 starsBeyond good and amazing.,

Cerebus is a masterpiece. The writing and the art, the vision and the single minded dedication. All of these things collided to make the most powerful piece of comic book history yet committed to paper.
Many Cerebus readers will point to Jaka's Story as the narrative high point. I wouldn't disagree but, to my mind Melmoth is the better jumping on point, the better description of what Cerebus, at its best, was and is.
If you've not read Cerebus this (imo) is the place to start. The story is moving and powerful, the artwork is astoundingly good.
And the end... The Epilogue... You could stop there and live in a sense of excitement about what was to come next, you could carry on reading and fall deeper into the richness of the world (either would be fine - me I'd carry on) but the final few pages of Melmoth are narrative layout and pacing yet to be bettered.
