    Robotech is a sweeping science-fiction anime epic of mankind defending its home world against alien domination. The Macross Saga tells of humanity's first contact with a secret alien technology following the crash-landing of a mysterious spacecraft on Earth. Project Robotech is set up to develop this alien technology leading to the creation of a vast arsenal of robotic spaceships. The Earth's flagship, the SD-1 and it's crew is sent out to discover where the alien ship came from leading to the invasion of Earth by the Zentraedi, an alien race intent on keeping the Robotechnology for themselves and destroying mankind in the process.

    The second part, The Master, deals with the descendent's of the first Robotech War. Humanity is once again facing destruction from an alien force. They send the SD-3 to attack The Masters, and while it travels out in hyperspace to their world, The Masters launch a surprise attack on Earth resulting in a devastating second war over a secret prize, Protoculture. It is not only The Masters that covet Protoculture. Someone else, even more deadly seeks it out too, The Invid.

    This is the best deal you can get.
    The complete series ep 1-85. Remastered, remixed, extended and only 19.99.

    If you don't have any previous dvd sets it's great. But for me having bought the first dvd boxsets(50 euro a box times 7)it's mixed feelings.

    Reason for buying this was the remastered bit. The old dvd sets look like dusted of antiques from an attic. The remastering was done well. The remixing of the sound not so.

    The depth of the different sound effect differ. I thought the volume wasn't on right. But it was the remixed bit.

    There aren't any extras on it like my previous boxsets. although it says extended footage. This is edited into the series and hardly noticeable. Unless you know all the specific bits.

    The main menu could have had some more attention. It does what it has to do. Episode selection or play all. But as nice as the box art is the main menu is lacking.

    Reason for me to keep the old box sets anyway is the changes they've made. They took away the old Robotech opening and end and replaced it with the original for each series then added Robotech and the underlying title of the series.

    It doesn't give me the feeling I had watching the opening of the old series when I was a kid.
    what it does do is connect the remastered series to the new Shadow Chronicles.

    The package design is done well. Everything looks Robotech. Much attention was given to the artwork. The cardboard used could have been thicker though. It holds quite a lot of dvd's. And you don't want the set to get damaged I recon.

    All in all this is a great set. As long as you don't mind the lack of extras.
