Buddy Baker is a well-adjusted guy -- husband, father of two, California homeowner.

He also happens to have the ability to absorb and adapt the special abilities of any animal in his vicinity. Once, a long time ago, he dabbled in crimefighting as the costumed superhero Animal Man. In the middle of a quarter-life crisis, lacking direction in his life, Buddy decides to put the costume back on and give this superhero business another shot.
